ISO 20022 payment status

ACCP: Accepted customer profile

Technical checks and the customer profile checks passed. ACCP is a payment status your bank reports in a pain.002 status report (banks report it to each other in pacs.002).

What ACCP means

The technical checks and the customer profile checks passed: for example, that you may use this account and this service.

What the customer profile check covers is up to the bank: typically that the account belongs to you, that the person or system that sent the file may use it, and that the payment type and amount fit what you agreed with the bank. In the ISO order of statuses ACCP comes after ACTC and before ACSP.

Where ACCP appears

A status report answers a payment file (pain.001 or pain.008) at up to three levels: the whole message in OrgnlGrpInfAndSts/GrpSts, a payment block in OrgnlPmtInfAndSts/PmtInfSts, and one transaction in TxInfAndSts/TxSts. ACCP may be reported for the whole file (GrpSts), a payment block (PmtInfSts) or a single transaction (TxSts); the Payment File Viewer warns when a status sits at a level its ISO code list does not cover.

The transactions are matched to your file by OrgnlEndToEndId (and OrgnlInstrId), the blocks by OrgnlPmtInfId and the file by OrgnlMsgId.

What comes next, and what to do

  • What usually follows: ACSP when the payment is released for execution, then ACSC.
  • What to do: Nothing to do. Reconcile when the settled status or the statement entry arrives.

Not every bank sends every status: many report only rejections, or only a few steps of the flow. Your bank’s implementation guide lists the statuses it uses.
